    Horizon Sopyrwa Ltd is a Pyrethrum producing, processing and exporting company. The company produces and exports the best quality of Pyrethrum Pale extract. The company is seeking to recruit a qualified and self motivate candidates to fill the following positions:

    1. PRODUCTION OPERATORS AND TECHNICIANS (6):

    1.1 Job Requirements

    • Good command of English language, both written and spoken.
    • Must have a diploma (A1 In electrical or Mechanical) Engineering.
    • Ability to read, measuring & testing instruments.
    • Good mechanical/electrical skills.
    • One year and above experience in factory operations would be an added advantage.
    • Ability to operate production machinery.
    • Mobility for climbing platforms, stairs & ladders to fill hopper or carrying out any other task.
    • Must have excellent work ethics.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintains a clean/safe work area and reports any safety hazards to supervisor.
    • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of all relevant production-related jobs.
    • Knows and observes all quality and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards at each operation within the assigned Section.
    • Possesses working knowledge of the MRP (Material resources planning) system as it applies to positions within the assigned Section.
    • Uses current reporting methods for production and waste at all operations.
    • Works efficiently and cooperates with supervisor and other employees.

    2. MAINTENANCE OFFICER

    2.1. Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree In Mechanical Engineering at least Five Years of Working Experience in Industrial Sector.

    • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively The English, Kinyarwanda Languages before groups of Employees
    Key Responsibilities
    • Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
    • Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
    • Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of steam, electric power, Compressed air required for operations.
    • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with maintenance staff.
    • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
    • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
    • Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
    • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
    • Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
    • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
    • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.

    Other skills required
    • Computer Skills: Knowing At least one or more CAD Software.
    • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

    BOILER OPERATOR

    1.1 Job Requirements

     Thorough knowledge of the proper operation and maintenance of high pressure steam generation plant equipment.

    Thorough knowledge of steam plant safety standards and procedures.

    Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, written orders, control gauges, manufacturer’s operating instructions books, and to record boiler plant information.

    Ability to operate and regulate boiler plant equipment and to make adjustments as required for plant output.

    Ability to understand and follow complex oral or written instructions on proper plant operation

    Additional Skills:
     Would be a plus Computer skills
     Knowledge of waste-water and environmental issues
     Boiler experience
     Utility knowledge - electrical, gas, water/sewer Regular
     watch-keeping duties

    Key Responsibilities

    • • Operates and adjusts high pressure gas, oil, and coal fired boilers in the steam generating plant.
    • Maintains maximum boiler efficiency by adjusting, reading, and interpreting gauges, indicators, and steam flow meters.
    • Maintains oil heaters, pumps, oil storage facilities, and oil unloading equipment.
    • Operates steam plant as situation warrants on Biomass wastes.
    • Observes boiler plant operations through use of electronic or pneumatic controls, pressure gauges, and safety devices.
    • Supervises or performs the chemical testing and treatment of boiler feed water.
    • Maintains various records and reports relative to steam plant operations.
    • Exercises supervision over employees allocated to the class of Boiler Operator I.
    • Makes regular checks of plant equipment and makes adjustments, repairs, and services equipment as required.
    • Performs related work as required.
